RetroQuest: Sword & Power Fantasy Roleplaying is something I began developing initally as a game to fill the void left behind when I found out Old School Essentials was no longer going to be producing its Basic Rules book. I love B/X and wanted something to be out there that filled that niche. But in the writing, RetroQuest became something else entirely. It became a love letter to the fantasy I fell in love with before I was a gamer. It was only natural that B/X would be the foundation upon which the game was built, since that was my first exposure to D&D.

RetroQuest is coming soon to Kickstarter in full-color, hardcover glory. It is both completely compatible with B/X and a love letter to those 80s and 90s adventure cartoons like Masters of the Universe, ThunderCats, Pirates of Dark Water, Conan the Adventurer, and ironically enough the Dungeons and Dragons cartoon. I’m very proud of what this game has become and am thrilled to get it out to the public. I hope you’ll join me and click the link to get notified when we go live.
