Tell Trixie she has excellent taste. My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is in this 50-year-old's top 3 fave shows of all time. I tell anyone who will listen that the Mane Six were the closest thing to an RPG adventuring party we had in mainstream media.
Oh, MLP is a household staple. I first discovered the show back in Season 2 after losing a bet and being forced to watch a few episodes. By the time I was on episode 5 I was a legitimate fan. I introduced my wife to it and she became so into it and became such a well known fanfic author in the MLP community that she was a special guest and panelist at multiple BronyCons.
MLP is a wonderful, wonderful series with great characters, well-developed lore, adventure, humor, and a lot of positivity. We're unashamedly a household full of bronies.
HEY! It's so awesome that you are in the driver's seat! Your work is really cool! Research the herb Chinese Skullcap for you daughter. Also check out CBD and THC oils. Hope that helps!
James, thank you so very much for sharing with us these aspects of your professional and personal life (and how they interrelate). It is true that it is difficult for others to fully comprehend what your life is like, but you have done a great job in this and in your prior post, “Tiny Victories,” to open a window to what it’s like.
Also, thankfully, there are many of us out here who have gone or are still going through the same experiences, so that you need never feel alone. My own boy will be 23 this month. I’m no writer, so I deeply appreciate the way that you describe both the challenges and the joys that you face; they so deeply resonate with my family’s own experiences. And seeing them expressed so clearly and honestly brings us joy.
Loneliness is part of it. I don't feel lonely, except when it comes to gaming. I used to be able to physically gather at a table with friends on a weekly basis. Now, actual, physical gaming, might happen twice a year if I'm really, _really_ lucky. But I'm introverted by nature, believe it or not and am really happy being home with my family 90% of the time.

Love this window into your life, and congrats on going full time! You're a great dad with some really lucky kids.
